Founded by Catherine Gibson. She decided through her experiences and the experiences of many others that came into her life and touched her heart that she had to give back. Fascinated by the beauty of sign language, Cathy learned to sign at The American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut and taught preschoolers dance through sign language and body movement. Characters in her Sophie books are based on deaf and hearing people she has met through her teaching experiences
